How To Hotwire A Gsxr 600 Written By Thomas Mysit1938 Saturday, January 7, 2023 Add Comment Edit i have a salve titled bike i bought from an ins. visitor... it has no key... suzuki wont sell me a central without the key lawmaking from the spare... which obvioucly i dont have. anyone know how to hotwire the ignition to by laissez passer the key? its an 04 gsxr600. thanks yous can take the ignition to a locksmith. they will take it autonomously and rekey it from the tumblers. I've had it washed several times. Or, yous tin can buy another ignition on ebay that has a cardinal with information technology. hmmm... very practiced idea... didnt even think most that. sick bank check into it today Or if you've got a wiring diagram: Short the principal power connections (via a swithc); Find the wire running to the ECU from the ignition and connect it to the power via a 100 Ohm resistor and the switch. It should beginning up ok... Pitiful I don't have the diagram with me to give you the colour codes. very good... exactly what i was looking for. the ignition switch is at a locksmith now.. he thinks he can make a cardinal for information technology. if it doesnt work out.. ill wire it up with a switch. thanks alot!!!! take you done this on a 04 600 or 01-03 model? Please don't mail service whatever more info that will make it easier for thieves to steal bikes. LMAO! if y'all recall this is the way your bike would get stolen you are sadly mistaken! I will aslo presume you've never done this before, if you had, you'd know this takes well-nigh an 60 minutes and a half to get it washed! Aye I've done it and realize that they would practice it afterward they threw the bike in the back of a truck and took information technology home. I too know that there are thieves who already know how to hotwire. I don't recollect this board should be helping new thieves. Racers tin can get the info from race shops who will share with people they know. i come hither for my info so i tin ready these theft recovery bikes to sell to racers... i am non a racer myself.... i dont deal with race shops that are willing to tell me... thats why i mail service here for info. if your worried about someone stealing your wheel... proceed it somewhere safe... dont leave it where they can get it in the back of their truck. hotwiring it is the least of your worries.. or shipuld be... Well so, nosotros should make y'all moderator. this board is here to help and so called racers, people who walk into shops could be theifs, who knows. I myself wouldn't stop what i'm doing to tell you how to wire an ignition. I, you lot could really exist anyone, but a racer "although information technology'southward not my job to police" 2nd why would i tell yous how to do something that i've put my hard piece of work and fourth dimension trying to perfect. That's money out of my pocket. Hobby for you-Task for me. I've seen then many re-central'd bikes it'due south non even funny! A theif is a theif is a theif!!! it doesn't matter. locks ignitions and what not keep honest people out and off your shit! When will people realize that Hither ya go! Wood hope this helps Originally posted by Bmfgsxr in Tech Buck, I believe you deceit go wrong with this layout! as far as the key what you need to do is this: Parts: 100 Ohm Resistor, 1/2 watt, 5% tolerance: Radio Shack part 271-1108 eighteen-xx Gauge Wire (ii different colors) Electrical Tape I soldered all of the connections. If you would rather utilise connectors and a crimping tool, you will need to accept a supply on hand. I am not sure how 1 would install the resistor with out a soldering iron. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Here is the fable for the various wires involved in the re-wiring: Wire Colors and Functions (Correct Handle Switch (Impale Switch)): O/B (Orangish with Black Tracer) -- Kill Switch O/Due west (Orange with White Tracer) -- Wire Colors and Functions (Key Switch): Br (Brown) - Tail Light B/W (Black with White Tracer) - Ground Gr (Gray) - Musical instrument Cluster Calorie-free and Horn O (Orange) - Ignition O/W (Orange with White Tracer) - Cooling Fan O/Y (Orange with Yellowish Tracer) - ECU R (Red) - Power (+12v) ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Removal: The first step is to remove the ii wiring harnesses that will be modified: the key switch and the correct clip-on switch cluster. Discover and disconnect the connectors that connect these harnesses to the master wiring harness. The cardinal switch has two connectors along the right frame spar. The right clip-on switch cluster has a connector just in forepart of the radiator on the correct side. You will accept to open up some zip ties and a clamp to get the harnesses free. To remove the key switch, yous will have to have off the top triple clamp and remove the two tamper resistant Torx bolts. I do not accept the correct Torx $.25 so I drilled the heads of the bolts off. To remove the right clip-on switch cluster, you will need to disconnect the throttle cables from the cluster. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Key Switch Harness Modification: This ane is actually quite simple. Beginning by cutting all the wires 2" from the main connector. Cut the Br and Gr wires at the connector so they are slightly recessed since they will not be used. Cut the O/Y and B/Westward wires to i" in length and solder a atomic number 82 of the 100 Ohm resistor to each wire. Insulate the wires and resistor with Electrical tape to keep the O/Y and B/W wires and resistor leads from touching. Leave the R and O wires at 2" for now. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Right Clip-on Switch Cluster Harness Modification: The goal here is to re-wire this harness so the excursion the impale switch normally controls is always connected (run) and to have two wires coming out of the harness continued to the kill switch. In the run position, the kill switch completes a circuit between the O/B and O/W wires. The O/W wire really connects to the starter button and the kill switch. A "Y" is formed about four inches down the wiring harness from the switch. Cutting into the sheath and find where the O/Due west wire forms the "Y" and cut the O/W wire that leads to the kill switch. Cut the O/B wire at the same signal in the harness and solder it to the O/W running to the Starter Switch. Run a pair of wires through the sheath and connect them to the O/West and and O/B wires from the kill switch. Leave well-nigh 3" of wire hanging out from the sheath at the connector finish. Use electrical tape to insulate all of the connections and to cover the cut in the sheath. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Putting it All Together: Take the key switch harness and right clip-on switch cluster harness connectors and plug them into the corresponding connectors on the primary wiring harness. Look at the R and O wires coming from the key switch harness and the 2 unconnected wires coming from the right clip-on switch cluster harness. If needed, cutting the appropriate amount of wire from the right clip-on switch cluster harness to allow for an uncluttered connectedness. Unplug the primal switch harness and right clip-on switch cluster harness connectors. Connect the R wire from the fundamental switch harness to an unconnected wire from the right clip-on switch cluster harness. Connect the O wire from the key switch harness to the other unconnected wire from the right clip-on switch cluster harness. Employ electrical tape to insulate all of the connections. Put the kill switch in the "stop" position and plug the connectors in again. Put the kill switch in the "run" position. The bike should power on and be ready to start. Try starting the bike. If it starts, y'all are just about done. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Finishing Upwardly: Reinstall the right clip-on switch cluster and clean up the wiring harness connections. That's it...... Damn, a step by pace guide on how hot wire a wheel. I've got some problems with this being up on a public forum. Yeah information technology's useful for a racer just in example but information technology could also be useful for the criminal element. The thread will stay (unless papa or mongo deems it to be more harm than help). it comes through about once every 3 months, so its been around, if someone was going to utilise it they could just go dorsum and find one of the many other threads its in. not worth deleting, yeah information technology would suck if it helped a theif, just you dont thinnk that another forum wouldnt be glad to assist them along? the whole joe perry/r6 stuff proved that theres only so much you tin practice to keep it off the bbs, it will make it through somehow. your late every bit hell dave, this was taken off the wera board if y'all practise a search, Called Hittin Switches you will find the exact aforementioned post! I would assume your as well late though! And again to do this type of wiring takes some time! oh well, better late than never I guess.
